Hi everybody.
After reading the teg-tips on Extra Tube Hole for Intakes I started to wonder what is the use of that third tube.
My air intake was not installed by me so I dont know the set up of it, but I noticed that in the third tube that is suppose to be connected to the intake has a screw in it (blocking the tube).
Should I do anything about this and does this effect the performence of the car in anyway?
You dont need to worry about it. Just leave it as it is now and it will be fine.
I am going to guess that you have a 92 or 93 teg, right??
The 90-91 tegs have an extra sensor that the 92-93 tegs dont have and there is a vacuum hose coming off of it that connects to the intake piping. That would be the reason for the third nipple on the intake.

The auto 92-93’s have the 3rd vacuum line you speak of.

Nope, they’ve got another air boost valve on the intake manifold, just like all the 90-91’s.

Yeah, that’s about what mine’s like. Did you even hook up the PCV hose?
could it be for cruise control, maybe his car doesnt have cruise control? just my thought.
what exactly is that third tube for and is it bad to not have it connected. I have a 91 lss and have had my third tube connected to nothing and haven’t had any problems with it yet.
I have a 92 auto sedan and I dont have an extra vacuum hose.

I dont remember seeing any other hoses coming off of tha manifold. I have a non-obd and an obd-1 manifold sitting in my garage side by side and the only difference is that one dashpot that is on the non-obd ones…

Nope, cruise is on the other side of the engine bay. It is on the driver side fender. Little black box with a cable coming out of it going to the firewall.

Dont worry about it. They are just pulling in clean air from the intake. I havent had either one of my three hoses connected in a couple years now and it doesnt hurt anything. It is when you start plugging the hoses up that you will notice a difference you dont want…
