EZ Way to take off those Axle Nuts/Lugnuts

Get a breaker bar, put the jack underneath the end of the handle,
Jack Away.

Done…

I’ve never really had that much of a problem taking off my lugnuts.

geez… if u need that much presure to get your lug nuts off… you need to find out why they were that tight…

more simple solution… get a harbor freight electric impact ;)… it helps on alot of items when your working on the suspension of the cars with the wheels off

if you’ve ever tried taking off your axle nuts to change an axle, you’d know what he’s talking about, i had to jump on a 2ft breaker bar.

Great tip!

I think he is refering to the axle nut bolt. Not the actual lug nuts that holds the wheels.

i now agree with the lug nuts thing tho… as of yesterday it took hell to get em off… i than found out my lug nuts are hollowed tuner nuts and i wd40 and they came right off… my drivers side axle nut took about 2min of hammering with the 690lb impact… u couldnt get close to that with a breaker bar unless the thing is 15ft long

WD40 and Duct tape. The two things that fix everything.

yeah, I used duct tape on my axle nuts last night.

impact gun impact gun impact gun… instead of shear rotating torque (i.e. you 15ft breaker bar) impact guns also use vibration to get those pesky things off… takes like maybe a min or two and next thing you know it’s off.

this is true, had to sit on some suspention bolt for about 2 minutes with an electric impact then suddenly popped right off.

You got an electric impact wrench with 690lb of impact from harbor freight? Thats hard to believe…

When using tuner style lugs for wheels, put anti-seize on the threads. By doing so you will have no trouble taking them off again.

Well, My axle nut would not come off,
Tried breaker bar and even air.

Well ripped out the whole front susp and took an Air chizel to it,

That got it off

Sucks tho spent a week on it trying to get it off then decided air chizel!

i use a craftsman 1/2" rachet, an impact 32mm socket, and a heavy duty floor jack’s pipe to jack it up…
leave the car on the ground, wheels on n all, e brake up, and it’s been pretty easy for me…

at work, craftsman 1/2" impact gun all day easy…
