so i drive a 90 auto DA i took a left turn last night and my CEL clicked on so i turned off the car and started it again and it went away. i know not a good idea but it was annoying. anyway. after that it stopped for almost exactly 24 hrs. then came back on after taking another turn… so i think ok… maybe fluid levels just messin with me, so i check all the fluids… they are fine. so i start the car and let it idle. nothing. so i go to get cigarettes from the store. i let the car idle while i went in… this time without the a/c on and like fucking magic… the cel’s bck. so now the only time (from what ive noticed) the cel will only come on if the car is in park idling without the a/c on. i have tried to get it to thro a code and it will not. i have used jumpers i have tried readin it off the ecu… hell even took it to a shop… nothing CEL but no code. now i am stumped and VERY irritated… there are really no symptoms to name either. the car runs fine with it on just the same. i just wanna know wtf is goin on w/ my car before i just rag the gas tank and let it blow to shit… i am soo fucking irritated with it… i have checked for vac leaks, i have cleaned the iacv, i have chandged most the fluids. i have check nearly everything, please help me with this.
Check the 02 sensor, my cel comes on every time I drive from Kelowna to Vancouver, service tech at the Acura dealer told me it was a bad 02 sensor or the high altitude of the pass if it only happened on the trip, and it only happens on the trip.
He told me if the cell comes on and there is no fault code it is just the 02 sensor [lower 02 at the pass] and I can just reset it myself, [reset button under dash] this is in my 94LS.:whisper:94
did that. its 1 month old. but i cleaned it anyway. i have checked all the usual and obvious shit and then some… still nothing. so i am thinking about seriously just donating it and using the write off… im fed up with this car. the thing that pisses me off the most is it runs perfect with or w/o the cel nver had a single problem… i wish it would just fucking break so i knew what the problem was… anyone want another teg for 2400?
This light comes on for a few sec. when ign. is turned on.
If it comes on any other time it indicates one of the engines emission control systems may have a problem, in my case it was the 02 sensor, and only at high altitudes in summer.
Maybe on yours it’s one of the other emission control systems.:whisper:94
