Iv owned my 92 GS-R for about a year now.
I recently blew up my B17 so I figured while it’s down I might as well do other things.
I started with a wire tuck, and while removing the dash I dicovered a Factory Alarm.
I have no key pad for this Alarm. I recently riped the old clifford alarm out that was installed by the previous owner because it was giving me so many problems.
My question is can I remove this alarm system with out it giving me any starting problem, and how would I go about removing it.
Factory security? I can find no indication that a factory security system was available for a g2, maybe it’s something the dealer installed, what’s it look like, can you take a pix?
I have removed a few dealer installed units, [made for Acura dealers] not a factory option, it uses a “T” harness, [a harness with 5-6 "T"s] it is installed by unplugging a particular harness in the car and then plugging the “T” harness in between the male and female stock plugs.
EG: The ign, harness would be unplugged, [at/around fuse box (2 plugs)] the alarm harness would be plugged into the cars plugs, [at/around fuse box (2 plugs)] then the ign. harnesses 2 plugs would be plugged into the alarm harness, not all wires on all the oem plugs are used for the alarm so they just go from the male to the female alarm harnesses “T” plugs.
If it is that type, it is easily removed, unplug car plug from alarm “T” harness plug, unplug “T” harness plug from car, plug the male and female oem plugs back together, done deal. 94
I have 93 GS with a factory security alarm system as well, the wire is cut and not sure where it exactly goes… there are couple of other switches and buttons that I have no clue of.
I will post pictures once I have time in hand so someone can explain.
I bought a wrecked 93 gsr that had some weird Nokia phone system tucked in the dash, it looked factory, for a car-phone. Like the old school in-car phones.
