as above where can these be got and what sort of price?
will be getting a carbon boot and want to fit one to save some weight :ohyeah:
summit or FAL themselves.
I am interested in these, are they street legal? Why don’t more people have em?
295.95 on summit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLX-9093B/
says right at the bottom in small print they are not legal for street use. beleive it or not, glass adds to the structural integrity of the vehicle when installed properly.
295 is ok but im gonna pay another 300$ on shiping to ireland! fuck it anyway 600$ on a window ha
^Your car is too clean for this plastic crap anyway man. Stick with the real glass. If you’re worried about weighing too much, compensate with more power, not less stuff. Boost your car, the weight of glass wont be noticeable then =]
@512_SIR II i like your thinking ha
facepalm, guess I should read more lol
It’s actually a nice piece, it’s not crap. The only downside to it should be the fact that it’s not as durable as the OEM glass. It will scratch and scuff whereas the glass would take severe damage to scratch or scuff. IMO less weight is a much better tactic than more power… Colin Chapman knew what he was talking about when he said:
“Adding power makes you faster in the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.”
i have the fal rear and quarter panel window. there good to have if you dont plan on daily driving. fal does scratch easily and youll always run the risk of it cracking/chipping.
I recently refinished a HEAVILY damaged FAL rear window. If you have minor scratches they should be easy to take out… Not saying it makes it a mod you want on your daily, but for anyone that has one, if it gets scratched that doesn’t mean its beyond repair.
Can’t you just put some sort of protective layer over it? Something like a clear vinyl that is used for bumpers/hoods?
