Yeah basically my engine fan stays on way too long after the car is turned off, sometimes for hours. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Where is the sensor that makes it come on? Could the sensor be bad?

It caused by the oil temp switch or the fan timer. If you pull fuse # 20 it will not run when the car is off ( The A/C also will not work with fuse # 20 pulled.) I emailed you the prints.
 i dont see the problem.
Problem is, the fan isn’t suppose to run for hours after the car is off, 10-15 minutes tops. If the fan runs like this often, then it can drain the battery. I have seen many posts like this one, and I don’t have a solution, but I would think the fan timer/control module is to blame.
well then why not run your fans on a manual switch…thats how i have mine…
Mine doesn’t even cut on while the car is off and never does. I know that isn’t helping, but try changing the switch that controls the fan. Thermo switch or oil temp as stated above.
manual switch=ghetto
mine does the same thing but once or twice i noticed moving some wires around it shorted on and off, so maybe its beyond the timer or sensor:run:
Had the same problem. The cooling system was a little low on coolant. You have to have the engine running to let the thermostat open so that you can put in the additional coolant/water, or better said, so you can completely get the cooling system full of coolant/water. Never had a problem since.
I had a the same problem after I put a crappy autozone thermostat in. My problem was fixed when I put in OEM thermostat. The problem was the other thermo was set to open at the wrong temp (180) and the honda part opens at 174 or somewhere around there, so this was making my engine run hot. The ECT was confused with the higher reading so it was keeping the fan on.
Your fan should not run for longer than 15 mins after you shutdown, if so check for bad fan timer. Also check to see if your cooling system is bleed of all air, there is a bleed valve that should be opened to drain all air out of the system. It is located on the block near the upper radiator hose.
Had to post this again here to share what the Helms says.
The OEM thermostat begins to open at a temp between 169* and 176* F. It is fully open at 194* F.
The Engine Coolant Temp Switch operates the fan between 196* and 203* F.
These numbers are according to the Helm’s manual and are for proper operating thermostats and ECT switches.
In other words, a thermostat that begins to open at 180* will work fine for our cars and the one I have purchased from Autozone has been fine for the last 2 years. The temp gauge shows perfect temps and car has never overheated once with over 300K miles on the ticker.
in all honda and acura car’s. depending the temp of the engine. the engine still heat’s up after turning it off witch how gas dry’s out in the cyl resulting in carbon. the cooling fan will kick on for what’s supposed to be 15mins. my teg does it to. i had it for about 3 year’s. and it did that all the time when it was hot out after shutting the car off. think of it as a heart pumping. it stops’ what happens?
mine has that problem. The guys i bought it from did a getto fix on it. I’m going to take a look at it hopefully today when we go out in the shop. I’ll try and get you guys some info on it if i figure it out.
I’ve been trying to figure this stuff out too.
