yeah so its startin to get on my nerves, its been happening on and off, ive been tryin to figure it out but i cant seem to find out why. so it happens here and there, lately, there hasnt been a week where it didnt do it at least once. sometimes i would turn the key to on then off and it would go away. sometimes i would do that, and the fan keeps coming on. dont know much about this problem, its pretty odd, so hopefully somebody has been thru this situation before and could help me out.
It might be normal, or it might be malfunction, or it might be a normal reaction to an unrelated problem.

When this occurs, you the engine is running, you turn it off, and then you notice that the fans are running. But were the fans running BEFORE you turned the engine off? Or was the engine ON and fans OFF. Then you turn the engine OFF and the fans go ON?

Does the car seem to be running at a higher engine temp than normal? How often are your radiator fans on with the car running?

Do you have ANY known modifications to the cooling system, an engine swap, ecu swap, or anything at all which may affect the cooling system or even any wiring?

When the fans turn on and the engine is off, do they stay on until you do something about it? Or do they turn off by themselves? FYI it is perfectly normal (under certain conditions) for the fans to run with the engine off.
The car runs fine, nothing out of the ordinary, idles fine, normal temperature, fan cuts on and off like it suppose to but when i park up and about to the the car off the fan is off and as soon as i turn the key to off the fan cuts on, just one fan, the left driver side. completely stock motor. im pretty sure it doesnt stop until i do something about it. sometimes all i would do is turn the key to the on position then off and then it stops. other times it takes a couple key turns to stop and sometimes it keeps turning on that i just disconnect the battery. not too sure what it could be.
Hmm, very strange. I’ve never seen this problem, I suggest you read your Helms manual, start on pg 23-102, it’ll explain how the radiator and condenser fans are supposed to operate. If the engine oil temp switch reads above 194deg F when the engine is turned off, the condenser fan should turn on for 15 minutes. So that may be normal for the fans to run. Next time it happens I’d wait 15 min and see if the fans go off. The only thing that seems strange is that if the engine oil is above 194 deg I would assume the coolant would also be above 194deg - which would mean the radiator fan should be running before you turn the engine off.
I’m about to head out of the house so can’t really go into any more detail, but if you read your manual it should be pretty evident how the system works. Other than waiting 15min for the fans to turn off it could also be helpful to test the engine oil temp switch to see if it’s functioning properly. It could be telling the fan to turn on when it’s not supposed to. There may be other potential issues, but since that switch is the only thing that allows the fan to run w/ the engine off it’s definitely the place I’d start troubleshooting.
That actually helped a lot, next time the fan cuts on ill give it the wait, hopefully its nothing major and just shuts off in 15mins. But thanks alot ! I’ll post back on here on how everything goes.
