Im going to buy some sound deadening shit to cover my trunk, doors, some select dash pieces, and possibly even the floors.
No dynomat…too expensive, but maybe another product called B-quiet if I dont go with fat mat.
Anyone used this stuff before?

A friend of mine put some in his Oldsmobile, applied it according to directions and with their roller. It stuck to most surfaces all right, but anywhere the mat was mounted on the underside of something (trunk lid, bottom of rear deck, etc) it fell off after a few weeks.
ouch…looks like ill be goin with b-quiet
Any b-quiet users out there?
have you tried “brown bread” that suff is used alot around here.
brown bread is a b-quiet product, they also carry some stuff called b-quiet extreme which is not as thick and less heavy.
oh… well there you have it then.
You can go to Home Depot and get Ridgecap Seal. It’s used for roofing. It is supposed to be the same stuff as the Dynamat and Stinger stuff.
thats what i used in the trunk. worked great and its stuck forever. made a bog difference in the exhaust noise. should be even quieter when i do the cabin.
Peel-and-Seal is another brand name for the same stuff. Basically a 60 mil Asphalt/rubber layer withan aluminum backing. Exactly the same stuff as original Dynamat at a fraction of the cost… like 1/3 the price! Even doing two layers over your car is still Cheaper than Dynamat or equivalent products.
What you are looking for: Self adhesive Weatherproofing Flashing. Usually found in the Roofing section, near the roofing paint.
Clean the surface with a solvent. Using a heat gun when applying will soften the asphalt and make it even stickier.
We priced Peel-n-Seal for the Olds, it was only 25 mil, so getting the same thickness as RAAMmat cost about the same money.
I have had DynoMat on my car for years. Nothing has ever fallen off, and there was a noticable difference in cabin noise.
