Faze gauges Review

I installed some Faze gauges (air/fuel and volt) about a year ago and I wanted to share my experience. Recently, about 2 weeks ago, my volt gauge stopped working. So I decided to take the pillar pod off and see why it stopped working. Much to my surprise, the gauge pod and gauges were warped BAD!!! I don’t know if it was from the heat of the gauges or the heat here in AZ (115-120 outside, (140+ in the car). I suspect that the gauges create a lot of heat because they don’t use a blub, they are electro-luminescent (spelling?). I would not recommend having these gauges if you live in an Extreme heat area or in a closed pod where the heat cannot escape. I have pics that I will upload in a few.

I am pretty sure the heat caused this damage to the gauges as the lights for them only come on at night and I don’t drive it that much then. Here are the pics.

Notice the curves in the pod. That part was next to the windshield.

The volt gauge is stuck around 12 but it is not hooked up.

Here’s the real problem.

I guess this can happen to any gauge in extreme heat conditions. The air/fuel gauge still works fine.

Jesus christ! What materials are the pods made of, very thin plastic? Did you call up Faze and ask them about the gauges warping like that?

If you say that the outside heat might be a factor then some of the cars interior might warp as well but I don’t think that’s the case. Maybe you;re right, it’s probably the combination of both the outside heat and the heat coming off of the poorly made Faze gauges.

It’s weird cuz I used to have gauges in my car with the same pods and sometimes it reaches 105+ degrees outside and this never happened before.

Thanks for the heads up about these weak gauges.
