Fellow g2's you can back me up on this

Please help me in convincing my co worker that you dont need 92 well 91 octane if your timing isnt advanced. This guy says that his car feels faster! lol

hmm my timing isnt advance that much…but my ls/v cries when i pump any less. BTW my car feels like it’s turbo’ed after a car wash…tell you friend to try that:up:

I personally think it depends on the car itself not what model and/or brand. When I bought my GS it had always had beed run with 91 and when I bought it and put 87 in it it ran like ****.

Well me personally, I find a 5-9 horsepower difference with my spoiler on.

tell that guy he doesn’t “need” 92 octane for a nonvtec normal compression g2teg. like you said, it’s recommended to get 92 if you advance your timing, are running a higher compression motor, etc.

i don’t think it’ll make your car “faster”.

ya most likely it wont, however it can make a difference based on motor condition and environment, but only by like 1 or 2 points, so 89 but not 91/92

The only thing I know about this topic is that Octane Booster on the Walmart shelf claims to boost power.

The higher the octane, the faster the gas burns, right? Maybe the engine is more “responsive” with higher octane gas?

no. the higher the octane, the more resistance it has to detonate at higher temp/compression

i have pver 10 hp increase with tornado intake add-on and altezza style tailights! my LED washer lights help me see 10 miles ahead of the road
