18 year old girl in 2024 bmw pulled out infront of me damaging front passanger corner panel, headlight, bumper and hood.
Car is totaled but it still runs fine. Got $3250 from her insurance as she was at fault. I wouldve got 4k but i kept the car so i got less.
Do you guys think this is a fair price?
It is already a salvage vehicle from a previous accident I was in where the same damage happened to the driver side. But I replaced the headlights and found a used bumper for 100 bucks. Last time I got $3000 but this time they offered me more for some reason I dont know if they low balled me last time. The car needs some work besides that everything rubber is worn out like bushings and it has an idle issue idle valve needs to be cleaned or replaced. I only paid $1000 for the car because of the idle issue. also it has 305000 miles. orignial engine and tranny
I straightened it out a little bit and tried to hammer the fender out from the inside which was a bad idea because it left small dents. they do have a red one at a junk yard maybe it still has the fender or hood or bumper i could repaint
Now I have to do a brake, light and smog check and re register it as twice salvaged
Ouch, sorry that happened to your car, yea for the age and mileage for our integra that value sounds about right also it’s it’s hard to locate OEM parts for the insurance company to do any repairs. At least my understanding ..

I wonder if i get it painted and then swap the trim over? or if it is trimless
what trim? You mean the front lip?
like the black molding on the front of the bumper. the same black molding that is in the sides and rear bumper

Oh yeah that is usually masked off and painted separately from what I’ve seen.
i went to the junk yard everything was gone but met this dude restoring a DA and said he was looking for the front lip.
i have an extra one from when i replaced my bumper and told him id give him mine for free but could i sell it or is it not really worth much?
The aftermarket ones suck. I paid $10 for a beat up OEM one a few years ago. Those mounting points aren’t the best.
