Fidanza short shifter.

I am in the market for a short shifter and I saw this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fidanza-Short-Shifter-Integra-90-01-CRX-88-00-Del-Sol_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33736QQihZ004QQitemZ140190517716QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW. If anyone has this one or has good/bad things about it let me know. Thanks.

hmm i have one exactly like that one, with the same kind of ball tip. I had it in my 89 Civic LX and it made shifts hard…i couldn’t downshift into 2nd that well. It feels kinda heavy though, like 3-4 lbs (but i’m not sure if the weight was put in the right place, as it increases shifting effort). I put the OE back and it shifted like butter compared to the short shifter, and it was overall faster shifting with the factory shifter. now its just sitting in its box in the garage.

i guess it looked cool.

there is a cheaper one of that thats $9 with like 10 for shipping. Looks just like it and i’m sure its made by the same company. Fidanza just renames it.

How can you tell that it is made by Fidanza under another name? Do you think the one you had in your Civic will shift differently in my Teg?

i have that shifter right now its smooth and feels grate and looks good too

So you have the Fidanza one and don’t have any problems at all? How long have you had it? I am kinda weary of getting the regular ebay ones because when I searched people said that the shifters broke at the ball and I don’t want that to happen.

well, i wouldn’t be surprised if they were all made by the same place and just sold under a different name like Fidanza. Just like Ksport struts are made by the same company that makes D2…i think it was Toser or something like that.

Here is a picture of mine. When i have time I may try and put it in the integra for the hell of it and see how it is. Again, it feels pretty solid and I dont think it’ll snap. It could probably be used as a bludgeoning weapon if it doesnt work out in the car.

what i did when i was looking for one was i went to the big well know companies. i have the b&M short shifter. the most expensive one that comes with the bushing and it was well worth it. everyone who gets in my car thinks its great. even guys who run race bmws and what not think its short so i recomend this one http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id=products&sid=4&cat=3&subcat=15&pid=370

i have had mine for 3 years and has not snapped off or any thing its a lot heaver the stock its steal not aluminum and the blot on the bottom already had the bushing in it and i paid $20.00 for it

I just ordered one from that guy!!! He’s a Great guy and very helpful!!! Ill install when it gets here and let everyone know how it went and how it feels!Fidanza makes a good product from what I hear so hey why not try it out! Plus I havent heard of any fidanza’s breaking!

Now, should I get the single bend or dual bend?

i have a B&M Short Shifter for sale lmk. check it out in the market section

Post a link.

depends on your preference the single bend leans toward ur dashboard like g3 oem shifters…and depends if your short or have short hands you might not want to reach extra to shift it would make it uncomfortable…with a dual bend it just brings the shifter more towards you…and brings the shift knob back into the center…making shifting easier if your short…not a huge difference just depends on what style you want…Im 6’1 and chose the dual bend…cause id like the shifter in the middle… goodluck…

Well I got it installed. I think it is a good shifter for the money. It is kind hard to shift but I think that is due to the reduced leverage. I guess I will have to get used to it. It certainly does the job effectively and i’m glad I replaced my bushings with Energy Suspension ones.

How much did you get the bushings from and where? also did you grease up the shifter? take off the heat shield? Still havent installed mine let me know?

I got the bushings on ebay for $15 or so. I grease up the ball of the shifter with high temp grease (bearing grease). I had to remove the heat shield because I tried to bend it to fit but it did not work. I like it though. Shifts nice and quick. A little stiff but not to bad. Any more help let me know.

Hmmmm what kind of shift Knob are you using? maybe try a couple out that may help with the shifting…try a weighted knob maybe? Also I believe it should loosen up a bit needs a bit of breaking in…is it still hard to shift? I live in Colorado and its been snowing and I havent got a chance to put it in yet…but also which side does the little round circle bushing go on? sure u got those washers in the right places and the screw also confused me a little when i took a look at it…

I didn’t use 1 washer or the spacer that came with it. The nut wouldn’t fit with it on. I also had alot of movement between the shifter ane the bar so I used one of the rubber washers that was on the bottom of the stock shifter on the new one. I am using a Momo leather shift knob and it is getting easier to shift. I guess after using the stock one for so long I was just conformed to that one.

Yeah good to hear thanks for the help bro! I knew it should of started feeling alot better…overall doesnt seem like it will snap either so i guess thumbs up for the fidanza hope i get to install soon on mine
