first off, i did a search and couldnt find anything.
i was messing around with the gas pedal and noticed it’s loose until about halfway to the floor, then its fine. what’s up with that? also, when i’m sitting at a light or something in neutral and i rapidly tap the BRAKE pedal, my idle speed goes up to like 2 grand for a couple seconds…
i’ve messed with the throttle cable before, so that might have something to do with this. can anyone help me out? i’m stumped…

only thing that i can think of for the throttle is the cable. check the slack where it connects to the rotor on the throttle body. the cable is attached to the intake manifold in such a way that you can tighten and loosen 2 nuts to take slack out or add slack to the cable if needed. I’d check that first.
not sure about the brake pedal / idle thing though.
the reason why ur rpm jumps when u press the brakes is becuase our brakes need power to work (dont know how) and like a/c, power steering and all that other stuff it gets its power from the engine itself by belts. so when u hit the brakes, the engine compensates and rev higher to put out more power.
Scott is right… I had the same problem and my OG (Old Guy) looked at it… he’s a auto mechanic and he told me I gots a vacum leak… he said most of the time its from your master cylinder. And speaking from experience… its a b-tch to change without a rigid line wrench. I dunno wat the official name for those wrenches but thats wat they use it for to break loose rigid line jam nuts.
