Ok now I Have read specs about a final drive on the 5 spd manual transmition. What is the ratio on the 1990 LS and how do you use the final drive. I Have only used the standard gears but my towns Mech says that there is basicly a sixth gear that you put it in to but I can’t figure it out. Any help on what a final drive is would be good.

Get a new mechanic. 
OR get this one to explain things a little slower… I think he confused you with the whole 6th gear thing.
