Well, made it to Pacific Raceways for a Test-N-Tune today, ran a 15.22 @ 93 MPH. I was Extremely disappointed. My new setup is a 9.99:1 Compression LS/Vtec w/B16 Head. Exedy Stage 2 Clutch, Zex Dry Kit with 75 Shot, Street Tires on 17s.
We all figured I’d be low 14s, high 13s.
I realized on my last run that I was running close to 18:1 A/F on my WideBand, I came home and saw that my FPR Vacuum hose came off. :gay::mad:
I figure it’s probably still good to the low 14s on street tires with a proper run, If I make the last day of the season on Sat I’ll put up a update.
its ok… some tracks are harder than others… out at the track i have been going to. most street tires can’t break 2.3. i used to have a 90’ accord with a 60shot dry. and ran a 15.3 @ 93. thats about 180-190whp in such a heavyass car.
i’m sure if you went to steelies up front, you’d def see 14’s for sure. in a DA, you’ll need at least 99-100 mph trap speed to get into the 13’s, but if you can get a 97-98 thats 14.1-14.2’s easy on a b16 tranny
dont roll through the water box, and launch around 5500k you should be good, and dont drop the clutch off the line
My setup is pretty much stock LS with a header and exhaust… got D2 suspension for better traction… running street tires on 15" slips…
It was my first time on the track and i only got two runs off … my first run was a 16.29@84.94… so i think i did quite a bit better on my second… i can’t wait till next season!!!
we put my zex wet kit(35 shot) on my buddys car that we put a crappy ls/ vtec with a im/tb on it. motor blew all kinds of oil due to it having 200,000 plus miles on it. anyways on dr’s in a 93 rs half gutted it ran a 13.7 at 108 with a b16 trans.
new setup for him is a built b20 block 11.5:1 with the vtec head.
Man, I just keep getting more and more depressed as I read. :bawl:
I can’t wait to get back to try again, and I should be on 22" slicks next time, just need to get my extended studs installed and find a deal on some slicks.
