First build: B18c1 gsr

I have a 92 da ls that I intended to do LS-V in. I bought a b16 head and was planning to Fully Build it. However, $ got a lot tighter than I thought it would be so I picked up a Complete GSR head off of my boy. I have a GSR block that I pulled out of a Buddy’s car. So now, I am going to build a GSR. The head and the block are both complete. So for now im going to keep them all stock and drop it in this way. I need to know what all will I need, should I replace, While im doing the swap. Im planning to use as much stock bseries parts as possible. Everything is OBD1 i dont want any conversions. Im running a LS tranny for now. In the market for a LSD b16.

I Have:

Complete Stock GSR Head

Completely Stock GSR Block

Vtec Solenoid

New from Honda $$ Vtec Distributor

Blackworks Header
Tanabe 2.5" Exhaust

Im Buying:

Victor X or Skunk2 intake mani, 68mm throttle body

Gates Timing Belt, Tensioner, Waterpump

I plan to use my Stock B-series mounts, starter, oil pump, etc.

What do you Recommend I replace or get while im doing this?

I know I will need a Head Gasket, Manifold Gasket, anyothers? Anything else? The head and block have both been checked by my machine shop.

I would suggest replacing the oil pump too while its apart.

Replace your wore out stock mounts, swapshopracing sells the 3 piece for a good price, they work great as well.

Reply To: rollinmyda -The oil pump was replaced last time I pulled the motor so its fairly new. Its not that bad to get to to replace even with the motor in.

Your going to hate the LS transmission. I have an XSi large spline with B16 1st-4th and an LS 5th for sale, and Im local, assuming your “bodymore murdaland” is Baltimore, MD. Anyway it has new honda synchros. It is not LSD though.

What machine shop are you using? and i would get new mounts if I were you.

If you have a completely stock head and block, don’t go VictorX. That’s a 500+hp manifold. Get a Skunk2 or other smaller manifold.

Yeah im most likely going with a Skunk2 68mm Throttle Body and Alpha Series Intake Manifold. Theyre a package deal with a gasket new for 400.

Im looking at Innovative mounts because Ive heard theyre decent quality for the $.
