What’s up guys, I’m probably going to sound incredibly dumb in this post but it is my first introduction to a car related forum… Or any forum for that matter. I digress!!! My name is Devon, I’m 18 and have recently introduced myself into the car world with my 93 acura integra ls sp. Despite it already being somewhat heavily nodded (and might I say abused) I hope to someday, with the help of this forum, build a car that will last another 240,000 miles.
Welcome to G2IC, so what are your plans with the car? I know some people on here may not be a fan of the body kit and headlights, but it’s your car to do as you please. Reading through the build threads on here will give you lots of knowledge and everyone here is really helpful so you definitely came to the right place. Any questions you got just drop a comment in my thread and I’ll get back to you.
Welcome! It sounds like you are already of a mindset to make that Integra “yours”, and maybe preserve/restore it a bit… you came to the right place! G2IC is one of the best collections of like-minded enthusiasts and real-world daily drivers and owners out there for the 2nd gen Integra. Keep us updated on your progress with the car, and feel free to contribute to the forums.
You are lucky! I kinda wish my first car was an integra. Just remember to have fun and everyone likes different styles. When I first got my integra I went through what I call the “squeaks and leaks” stage. Just fixing things that bothered me like my struts squeaking and my trunk leaking (never good to have 2 inches of water in your trunk). Anyway This forum is the best tool you could start with, so good luck!
Thanks! I don’t really car too much for the headlights either, they were just what came with the car but I will stay true to my enjoyment of body kits (I’m putting a new one on in the future). Once I get done doing basic repairs such as engine maintenance and body work, I want to do the best I can with my minimal knowledge of cars to make it last, because from what I’ve heard cars like these don’t hold their value too well so I don’t really want to end up selling it. But I’m sure I will have questions and will eventually take you up on that!
I didn’t go into car searching with an integra in mind (I was actually looking at celicas for the longest time) but this car certainly could use going though that phase since its had 3 owners, and 2 of which beat the living hell out of it. Did you have a carpeted trunk?? If so then that’s 10 times worse than an already terrible situation
Ya it is carpeted but a quick vacuum dried it up. These cars tend to leak through the tail light gaskets, so I ended up ordering some new ones on ebay and changing out those gaskets. problem solved. Anyway sometimes we dont find the car, the car finds us!
