Hello g2ic! New to the Integra world but not to Honda’s or imports. I’ve previously owned three ED Civics and a 96’ 240sx. I picked this up in December for $600.00! It slipped time and pretty much screwed the head. Fortunately, it didn’t damage the pistons or cylinder walls. However, a motor swap is in it’s near future!
Overall, the exterior of the car is in decent shape but need’s work. The factory color (red) can still be seen in the door jams, under the hatch and in spots under the hood. Also, the roof & hood are still flat black. The silver paint looks bad in place’s up close.
Here’s the original pics from craigslist.
Over the last few months I have had not time to work on it… However, that has changed in the last week. The progress so far: got new wheels installed, adjusted both driver and passenger windows, & swapped the hatch (tree limb crushed previous hatch).
Looks good with the LS meshies. Not many people here agree according to some of the rim threads but i like em. Just sold a set and wish i had kept em for my Jasper LS. Like YeYo said, not bad. Keep us posted.
Yeah many more plans! complete paint job, 92-93 front bumper, replace rear bumper (someone routed the exhaust to the passenger side and cut the bumper), Swap will be B20B/Z, Skunk2 Intake Manifold, Crower dual springs and titanium retainers, Crower stage 1/2 na cams, AEM CAI, Tri-Y replica Header, new 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, muffler… not sure, wire tuck, & OBD1 conversion.
Picked up a complete B20B4 long block (minus intake) today for $60.00, Thanks James!
So, their might be a change in plans! I’m seriously considering a B20Vtec build. But, i’m really not sure yet due to machining cost like fly cutting pistons, balancing the rotating assy., & also bore work. thank I would have to also factor in the P3F pistons. But, if the Piston’s & bore check out I might go for it! Anyone, have any experience with the B20 vtec or the LSvtec? Of course properly built and not revved to 8000 grand!
Update:
Well, the new head is on the motor. Still have a few hours of work left on it but should be running this week sometime. Pic’s coming when i get a chance.
Also, due to crappy weather I didn’t have a chance to paint the trim. Hopefully, this coming weekend I can get it done.
HOLY toledo long block for 60 bucks haha. You can barley get steelies with wires on tires showin for that price :). Go B20V and screw the paint/trim for now. Id say if this is your DD then itll be a fun ride. More PICS!
Of course I’m now having wiring & sunroof issues with the car. So, ill tackle those issue’s next. Plan’s are to install a small dry cell battery in the engine compartment. Also, remove the push button starter button, & address the wire tuck/lighting issues.
Look what I found under the carpet! Speaker wire really???
What do you want to know as far as LSV/B20V builds?
If ‘properly built’ as you say, an LSVtec motor can rev to 8k+ all day long. Proper precautions need to be taken of course, but nothing different than any other all motor build.
