I swapped in a b20 in may. The coolant line on the bottom of the FITV had to be blocked because there was no spot on the b20 to hook it to. My question is this, would blocking this line cause my FITV to malfunction? If so is there a way to fix it? I ask this because at operating temp, my FITV is still producing suction and i’m haveing a bouncing and searching idle.
I’ve bled the coolant and tightened down the FITV, and it is still causing suction. I searched and didn’t find anything that pertained to my quesition. Your help would be appreciated.
this absolutely has to be connected, and yes, there is a place for it to be connected. i can’t get a diagram for you, but if you have a shop manual, try get the diagram, you will find it. but which intake manifold and throttle body did you keep??
Yeah, mine’s been like that since may, when i swapped the motor. I tightened down the valve inside and it stopped the rising and falling thing at idle for awhile. Now it’s back. When the car is warmed up there’s still suction from the FITV’s hole in the Throttle Body. So i’m thinking that the FITV is just bad. Alos if i plug both IACV and FITV holes my car doesn’t die out. Does that mean there’s a leak elsewhere in the vacuum? It wouldn’t surprise me being that it’s nearly 15yrs old.
