Problem: Flooded Spare Tire well, and basically your entire trunk and back seats if it gets real bad, along with condensation in tailights.
Fix: Take your tailights out, and take some silicone sealant or go to your local body shop that you know and ask for some M-Seal. Apply it onto the part of your tailight that actually contacts the body of the car.
Problem should be fixed.
I have the same problem. I’m going to try to silicone the tail lights tomorrow. Do you know if there is any other way water can enter the trunk or is it mainly the tail lights that are leakin’?
A question off the subject. What kind of exhaust do you have and how much mulah was it. I’m lookin to get an exhaust in the next week or so. I’m lookin for an exhaust with a good rumble to it.
Sure enough, my leak in the trunk was due to the sunroof drain hose not being in the draing hole… how would it come out? it was just dangling beside the hole.
Also changed the taillight gasket… but I’m gonna look into this M-Seal stuff, cause the factory one, just doesn’t look too sturdy. but I had to tighten the bolts down before the taillights came up nice an snug to the body. cause I know I’m gonna be changing them again once I find some 92-93 tails to clear
Also would the bolts that go on the taillights to secure them to the body be hard to find, cause some of mine are rusted.
You guys also know there’s a drain hole in the trunk right ? This usually gets blocked up with dust / debris. Clean it out. The hole is right in front of the place where you keep the jack. It drains out by the hitch.
Yep I know of that hole, I blasted compressed air into the hole an sure enough it was clogged up quite a bit, but my main problem was the sunroof drain. It was behind the passenger seat so when I rained or I washed my car the back seats would get alittle wet.
When I got my car my trunk was wet after it rained or after I washed my car. Problem was the draining tube from the sunroof was disconnected. I had removed the panels in the trunk to find this out, I just reconnected the tube and taped it up to make sure it won’t become disconnected again.
hmm… i had that problem too… my back seats were all wet lately. the main problem was my red/euro clear tails that i took off and put on some 90-91s… and it seems to have cleared up a bit, but i still get condensation in the tails…
i just bought some new gaskets… but i might try the sealant as well…
if you use the sealant, is it hard to remove the tails later?
and where does the sunroof drain hose go? which side, so i can check to see if mine is leaking, etc.
Check the black output tube that empties the water out of the car from the sunroof. Mine was clogged. The sunroof water drainage tube connects to this in the trunk on the rear right side.
where exactly is this sunroof drain hose? it just rained here for like the first time in a year, and there is some water in my damn hatch too! im sopping up all the water now, damn i hate this!

There should be a drain hose on both sides of the trunk. They are located behind the side panels on the backside of the wheel wells. Another thing to check is your anttenna drain hose while your in there.
