Fog Light Problem

I got me some 3K 55watt yellow bulbs for my fogs. I installed them and it blew out the fuse. Any reason why? any way to make it work?

Which fuse is blown? No.4 or no.19. What conditions does the fuse blow under. Foglight switch turned off or on.

I turned on the fog and then it would be on for about a few minutes and it would just shut off. Come to find out that the fog fuse is blown.

i had that problem before with shitty bulbs…not saying thats your issue but that happend to me with shitty ones, only ones ive had any luck with are the nokya bulbs

I don’t think it’s the bulbs… yet.

I keep blowing the 15amp fuse that the fog is connected to. Each fog light bulb is 55watts. I have 2 so that means I have 110watts flowing through the car. If I remember correctly, watts divided by volts equals amps. Which means (55x2)/12= 9.16 but they don’t make a “9.16” fuse so it’s best to round up to the nearest one they make which is 10. But the weird thing is that it blew out the 15amp fuse that was already in there! So i’m here scratching my head. We also tried the 10 and it blew up too. A fellow DA owner gave me the advice that maybe the hot wire is shorting out because it keeps touching the grounding area. I have yet to check that. So i’ll see tomorrow… I just want yellow fogs ugh! so simple.

You should just buy the Legend yellow fog capsules that go over the normal bulbs. Looks really good and it’s easy.

did you do the fog rewire? could be a simple loose wire issue

A fuse will blow when there is a short before the load. So you should be checking the wiring before the foglights. However it looks like the only 15A in the lighting system is fuse no.11. If you can verify that is the blown fuse. That fuse powers the integrated control unit, dashlights, dashlight brightness controller, park lights, taillights, license plate lights, and the backlight in the foglight switch. Was the system operating normally just before you replaced the bulbs? If so try swapping the original ones back and see if it works.

I got a set of the fog capsules from the Legend if you need it! Lmk!

Figured it out guys. Some hot wires were touching the grounding area causing it to short out and blow a fuse. I was wrong about the number 15 fuse. It was actually number 10 (powers the foglight). I just wrapped the open wires in some heat shrink and it worked like a charm.
