Fog lights not working?

its a 93 db1.
when i press the button for the fogs nothing hapens, i look at the lights and theyre not on. I want mine to be like SUPER BRIGHT YELLOW. is it the light bulbs that are blown? or what? how can i figure this out?
i tried to look for a fuse number 19 but couldnt find it…what could be the problem? and what do i do to get them super yellow? do they come stock like that ? conversion kit?? sum1 help :frowning: show some db love

You are going to have to pull the fog light switch ti do some testing.

The fog light fuse, [fuse 19 -15A] has nothing to do with the fog light switch, the fog light switch gets it’s power from fuse 4 -10A, [left head light (low beam) it supplied power to the switch so when switch is turned on the switch will supply power to the fog light relays coil, [to energize relay] the relay then closes the circuit between fuse 19 and the fog lights.

If the fog light indicator light, [in fog light switch] is not turning on when fog light switch is turned on, [and head lights are on] then there is a problem at the switch, so you need to pull the switch and test for power on the red/yellow lead, [when head lights are on], if there is power on the red/yellow then turn fog light switch on and test for power on the red/blue lead, [output to fog light relay].

Let me know what you find.:corn:94

all i gotta say is
WHAT
DA
HELL

duz all that mean?
i understand that its a problem with the switch because the light indicating that the fog light button has been pushed does not come on…so does that mean i need a new switch? a new relay? or just loose wiring?

you have to do some testing as fcm stated…

with a volt meter kinda testing? or just fool around a bit and try things out?
THis is what i was going to do…seing as how the fog light switch is a switch…id take it apart and take the neg and pos. and tuch them…if the fog lights work…buy a new switch?

Yes you need a multimeter, "volt meter " to test electrical in your car but you can also jump the input and output at the fog light switch.

Again, remove switch, unplug the switch and use a jumper wire, [scrap piece if wire] to jump the red/yellow to the red/blue in the plug, if the fog lights work, replace the switch.

If the fog lights do not work it does not necessarily mean the switch is good it just means that there is no power to the switch, [red/yellow lead] and the switch is probably good, you will not know for sure if the switch is good unless you test it with a multimeter or find the problem with the red/yellow lead.:sipread:94

Lol. Wow. Well im kinda having the same problem. But now I know what to use the “multimeter” on lol. Well mine goes on when it feels like it. And when it goes on there is power 2 the switch switch shows light on as if it gets power. But the fogs flicker and turn off. Some times they go on for like a second turn off and go bakk on. Im lucky if they are on for more than 5mins. When I hit a small hole or inperfection on the road it turns off and won’t go bakk on even tho switch shows the light on. Wiring problems?

you do know your low beams have to be on for your fogs to be on right?

What are you trying 2 say? That im stupid? Yeah I know that guy. I might be a noob 2 da forum but don’t diss me bro. Lol I took that very offensively. And I know that they don’t work on high beams 2 if that was ur next question.

Don’t get your shorts in a knot, 92teggie it was just a question that I would have asked if boarderwayne had not, you may have know it but you would be surprised how many Honda/Acura no0bs do not.

Back to your problem, Yes, it could be a wiring problem, maybe just a connection problem, loose fuse maybe.

Because you were not clear about the indicator light in the fog light switch I will assume when you say " the fogs flicker " you mean the fog lights only and not the fog light indicator, that being said I would start by checking the fog light grounds and the fog light relay and make sure the fog light fuse is tight in it’s holder.

Oh, and do not take offence to any of the above I did not mean anything by it. :corn:94

Ill do the tests that you sed tomorow after work :frowning: i hate work. but it pays for my db lol
so ill get a spare peice of wire and jump the red and yellow wires you sed right? and if they turn on the the switch is the problem right?
what if its the relay? how do i noe which relay is the fog light relay?

K bro. Thankz on da info

Well that’s kind of what I said, what I did say was…

" Again, remove switch, unplug the switch and use a jumper wire, [scrap piece if wire] to jump the red/yellow to the red/blue in the plug, if the fog lights work, replace the switch." :tapfing:94

ohh okay that seemed alot more clear lol
ill do it 2morow lol thanks

I’m new to this forum but I’m having the same problem. but I did the test you suggested to him and when I wired those two together no lights still but I hear a clicking noise. my fuse is still good and my bulbs look perfect. what could be the problem?
