last night they were working fine…then i turned them completely off, then back on and the instrument lights in the gauge cluster (the ones the dimmer switch control) didnt come back on. everything else in the cluster works.
then my buddy called me and told me my tail lights were out.so i pulled off the freeway to see that my fogs (which normally come on with the first click), my sidemarkers (which are tapped into the corner lights and should come on with the first click), my tail lights, and the instrument light (cluster light), are all not working!!
my brake lights work like they should when i depress the brake and i’ve checked like every fuse under the daash and hood and nothing!!
is there a relay that could’ve burned out somewhere??
please help! i do alot of late night early morning driving and this is my dd.
93 Gsr with jDm one peice headlights if that matters.
If the fuse is good then it has to be the switch or wiring to or from the switch for park light circuit.
Check the park light fuse, test to see if there is power to it, [when park lights are on], if not test the switch.
You can use a jumper from the 12V constant or 2nd ign. free pin to the park light free pin, [on under dash fuse box] to get park lights untill you can replace the the switch.94
How do you replace the switch? I am thinking this may be my problem also. when you double turn the switch did only the headlights come on? Did nothing else come on such as : the tail lights when not breaking, the clock dimming, the dash light and that stuff?
exactly…only the second click (turning on the headlights) worked…the first click (parking lights) did not work…
to replace…
if you have a stock steering wheel, i would imagine that you’d have to remove it…
if not…then just remove the steering column cover and there’s like five or six skinny little screws holding it in place…then unplug it and swap in the new one
I am hoping this is my problem. I just bought a 90 DA, and the brake lights work but the tail lights won’t come on with the parking lights or headlights. The headlights work as do the fogs, and I checked fuses and wiring…it’s got to be the combo switch (I’m praying). lol
So you’re saying it was the switch, and it just up and went like that? I had the same issue happen to me last night in fact and it sounds weird how it would just go after working fine.
My problem ended up being the fuse…the guy who sold me the car pulled the radio right before I took it home and chances are he touched a wire and it blew…
