who drove there b16 stock in there integra? because i know alot of u guys hook up the motor before dropping it in, i was wondering how do you guys like the power of the motor? is it worth $1400? what is the top speed on the b16a tranny? sorry for mutiple questions i’m very curious. thanks
i think it was worth it. it FEELS fast. and the sound is so worth it. the tranny is annoying at high rpms but if your not worried about going 140+ mph its a great choice. when the engine is stock immedietly you will notice the lose of torque. hope that helps you. -Dan
I just finished dropping in a Jdm b16a. Mine came from an automatic, so it has the weakest cams. I love driving my teg. Hearing the VTEC screamin is awesome. I have the JDM S1 tranny kicks ass, great accerlation. Overall, I would choose the b16a over the b18a/b. You will feel the loss of torque, I really didn’t notice it that bad. I think you’ll enjoy.
If you use the JDM B16 ECU(PR3), then your TOP speed will be governed at 118mph. With an S1 tranny, you will be just shy of 7800 RPM, as well.
I installed a jdmb16 1st gen in my 90 teg about 2 months ago. Let me tell you, IT IS AWSOME! I don’t think it’s that much “faster” but it sure feels it and reving to 8000 is just insane. worth the 1200 or so you’ll pay for it. I got mine from hondamotorsonline.com and I would recommend them. just do it and don’t let anyone talk you out of it. sure a little less torque but dang when you hit vtec it’s all over. by the way the top speed sucks and crusing down the hiway you wind up reving to like 5000 to go like 90 but besides that it’s all good. FUN FUN FUN
