Has anyone put a fram sure drain on there car yet? I recently bought one and it did not fit, even though it was the same one that fram had specified, which was the sd-2 model. My friend bought one to put in his civic, and it fit fine. Any one get one to fit?
I saw it the other day when I was picking up some oil at Pep Boys. I didn’t get it because the hard part’s getting the oil filter off cleanly, not the bolt.
anybody else?
Just use the good 'ol cheap drain-pain. Mine comes with a beak so I can easily pour the contents to a jug and let it sit like that for 1 hour (oil change for me takes 2 hours
). SE-37K is right, the messiest part is the oil filter. I have never had a problem with the oil filter on my Mazda being messy. Hondas are notorious for this I guess.

I don’t understand what the problem is with the oil filter. Am I the only one that removes and replaces it from the top? I drain the oil for 2 hours and then pour off the old oil to a jug, clean the pan and crush some newspaper to leave in the drain pan. Slide it back under the engine and access the filter from the top of the engine bay on the passanger side. Just spin it off and drop it into the newspaper in the pan, and the new filter goes in from the top just fine. No splash, no mess. Simple! ![]()
