Friendly B16 Trans Info Needed

Si I just tore apart a transmission I had laying around and I’m counting the teeth on the gears to get the ratios and none of the online stuff is matching. I plan on emailing Synchrotech here shortly but was thinking I could look to my friends at G2IC for some help since we are a group of cable trans nuts.

Here is the gear set I’ve come up with . . .

Main Shaft

1st ~12
2nd ~19
3rd ~24(according to synchrotech this means it’s B16)
4th ~29
5th ~32

Counter Shaft

1st ~39
2nd ~39
3rd ~34
4th ~32
5th ~29

Ratios I came up with

1st ~3.25
2nd ~2.05
3rd ~1.42
4th ~1.103
5th ~.906

I also did the final driv which came back as 4.4 so that along with the third gear tooth count I would love to think this is a B16 trans but just want to cover all bases. Thanks for any help or point in the right direction.

The tranny is : 90-93 XSi/RSi (S1/J1), so yes b16

EDIT: Site only lists for Hydraulic transmissions gear count.

my computer doesn’t have that program i need to read it and the website linked doesn’t list the ratios i came up with when i counted teeth.

the website says it’s a y1 but 1st and 5th dont match and neither does the final drive

I believe you counted an additional tooth on the 1st gear Counter-Shaft… 38 / 12 = 3.166 (Y1 Trans)…

No real clue about your 5th gear dilemma…

But I myself have a JDM Y1 transmission… all of the gear-ratios match, but I have a 4.4 Final Drive. Dunno if it came that way or of someone installed it but, its there.

i thought the same but i’ve counted em like 10 times lol but thank you for the solution to the final drive issue

Are these not exactly what you said you had?

Well there it is. I’ll be damn. Is there anything I particular I need to know about this transmission when ordering parts?

I couldn’t get the teg tips thing to download on my computers cause I don’t have the Program to open it

Also the synchro tech website list the s1 and j1 separate when buying parts so how do I know which is which.
