Gday guys I am Benn from Australia I’ve had a couple ef sedans and a hatch seen the Integra for sale so I’ve never owned one and I picked it up it’s a 1990 Honda Integra with the b18a1 5speed now I’ve read abit before posting and don’t want people to crack the shits about sweet fa but I am looking to keep the same motor for more power and the only reason is because finding a vtec motor here is hard and people want around 4000 for stock motor I would rather spend 4gs on the motor I have so I would love abit more power out of this motor so far it’s stock I would like cams header maybe even a small turbo set up I’ve looked around on here and I’ve seen some stuff but I would to see if anyone is from aus as well because looks like I will have to ship parts from the states so hello guys!
Welcome Benn! Have any pictures of your cars?
4,000 should be able to get you quite a bit of power out of a b18a. I’d work on switching it to OBD1 to help make tuning easier, fix all of the wear items, and then focus on making big power!
Hi Benn, welcome to G2IC.
You should be able to find a VTEC engine much cheaper than that… Generally the Type R setup will run $3-4k but a B18C2 from the VTiR (Aussie GSR equivalent for the US readers) or a B16 go for $1-1.5k including gearbox, loom and ancillaries.
I recently picked up a C2 for $1k with everything as a spare.
How much can you do yourself? Labour is a costly part of modifying if you need someone to fit parts for you and will quickly bite into any budget.
Just checking on Gumtree and there is even a DA6 (JDM XSi) with its standard B16 for $2700 currently

Benn, welcome to G2IC. Please use better sentence structure in your posts. They are really difficult to read.
Sorry mate I will try better lol
When you say ‘everything’ is that including gearbox, ECU, loom, PS? If you want to use the new gearbox you will need a cable to hydro conversion (many options available). Your existing box isn’t a great option with the B16.
Keep in mind that the B16 makes similar or less torque through the rev range until 6600 but when the b18A stops, the B16 keeps going hence the higher power figure. But it’s all in the top end. This does not make for a much faster car but it does make a fun revvy car.
You can find B18C2s for not much more or even JDM B18Cs (non R) which require the same amount of effort to transplant but offer same torque and more plus the top end too.
