alright, ive already posted this question a few months ago but no one ever answered. now my rear brakes are pretty well done- siezed caliper, as well as a warped rotor, and pads are gone. heres my thinking; if it aint broke, dont fix it, but if something’s wrong than replace it with the finest aftermarket parts you can get.
so im thinking big brakes. but you dont need sweet brakes in the rear. my idea was to get a kit for the front and stick the stock front setup in the rear. i think i can mount the brakes in the rear alright, but my concern is making the parking brake work, for one, and also flowing the proper amount of fluid back there and getting the right bias. these brakes are going to require more fluid than the small pistons on the original rear brakes, but they wont have to work as hard as they did when they were mounted on the front of the car.
PLEASE give me any HELPFUL advice you can. id rather not spend the 150$ or so for rebuilt rear calipers, and still run those puny looking rear discs, but if evryone thinks im retarded for trying the above, than i guess thats what ill have to do.
please reply
thanks
I’m sure there are dedicated parking brake calipers you can use. I remeber seeing a car with a seperate caliper for the parking brake.
For your bias question, get a proportioning valve.
