So this morning I was heading to work and stopped to get some gas after leaving the gas station I smelt burning brakes and with every stop I made I could feel my brake pedal getting harder with ever press. So I was able to get my car in to work after I came to stop and set my e brake both left and right sides were smoking. So I waited until I got off work until I was able to check things out I was told that I might have air in the lines so I bled them and there was no air in the lines so I tried to drive home and that was a no go because my buddy said we was able to smell burning brakes from behind me. So I am thinking that maybe I need to chance out my pads which I plan on doing tomorrow.
If I could please have some help or insight would be great
You sure it’s not one of your calipers needing replacement? Take the wheels off and check out the front pads on both sides to see if they’re worn unevenly.
well I dont know just yet but I will look into it. I talked to a buddy of mine that has been working on honda’s for years and said that my calipers might need to be replaced and he also told me to check the vacuum line that comes from the booster to the intake manifold cause it might be clogged.
Also you can get a caliper rebuild kit from Autozone and swap all the rubber inside and get new pistons. Its not a hard job, and its way cheaper than new calipers. I rebuilt my front and rears on one of my older DAs and the front was very easy, back was not fun at all. lol
Another thing to try if its really bad (As a temp fix) you can tap your caliper with a hammer to try and scare it loose a little.
