Hello this is my first post on this forum.
I just bought my 93 LS 2dr auto in August.
I had another 92 rs 4 years ago until It got stolen. I know all the basic systems on these cars now, most of my time on them is working on the new one.
I bought my 93 ls for $1500 with 190,000 mi. The dealer was going to fix it up and sell it for $4000. (and someone would actually bought it too!!!) So I bought it as is and I have been fixing things on it for a little while. I replaced front calipers, and regreased my spedo cable, done thermostat, and adjusted my electronic shifter switch. All this from stuff I read on the forum. The car is turning out nice so far.
When tax season gets here Im going to finally replace the front bumper assembly. Its not that bad, but the girl that had the car before me rammed it into a small post at 5 mph. It took a chunk out of the cover by the left turn signal. It broke the styrofoam and bent the side of the bar back a little.
There is NO damage to any of the fenders and all the doors close good. The radiator support is perfect. All the damage is cosmetic.
I dont want to do a body kit, I just want it to look stock for now. But I want to make it look good. Some day Ill put a full vtec in but not till the body looks good.
Which is better, buying the beam and cover aftermarket, (saves me $150 and $100 respectively.)
I know I have to get the foam OEM, besides its only $70 and there is no aftermarket.
Tell me what to do with your Integra Wisdom guys.
a JDM bumper is some 30% lighter. i’d do that. or you can buy mine and i’ll get a jdm bumper lol.
I’d recommend just going to the junkyard and finding a bumper with the support.
You can always take it to a body shop and have them repaint.
A “JDM” bumper isnt really “JDM”. The only difference is in the bumper support. The “JDM” support is a lot lighter and not as safe as the USDM support. Get in an accident going 5 mph and that JDM support will bend.
So think about it here…
Thank u for the advice, however there is a small problem.
All junkyards within 200 miles of here do not have the bumper and support, or else I would already have bought it.
i can attest to the JDM support. it is made of tinfoil.
-i Do have my old usdm support in great shape. however, it weighs a ton. so shipping would be expensive. where are you located??
go with oem, i got into an accident last year and it put a hole into my bumper so i decided to go buy a sort-of-fit bumper cover. it was only 30 bucks but like the saying says you get what you paid for. the whole bumper itself was warped. and none of the holes lined up and i had to open them up, and it just looked ugly. so after awhile i just put my old bumper cover back on and sold the ceri-fit one for like 25 bucks. so it was a $5 mistake. <- that’s like the price of a gallon of gas now-a-days
I just went back to the Import Salvage that mostly deals in Honda/Acura.
All the DA’s that he gets are few and far between and dont last long when he gets one. However, he is in a big network of nationwide salvage yards and told me he could get one here with shipping for $250 and it would be blue.
Is that the right price?
Also it is blue and not Horizon Gray, so Ill have to repaint it, but Im going over the whole body and restoring it with a coat of fresh paint.
On my passenger rear wheel well there is a small rust spot happening. It is where the body meets the bumper. It is the size of a Nickel and has just started to bubble under some paint. It is not rusted through because the metal is still strong behind the rust… Could you tell me how to Properly remove the rust and restore the surface area?

In this thread, he completely (I mean completely) restores a DB from the graveyard…read thru the thread for some pointers, but bottom line from how you describe it, on page 7 the OP talks about rust converters/inhibitors…take a look at that because that will help to stop the spread of rest and turn it into primer so you can sand/prep and get the body right for paint
