I’ve been having vibrations come from the driver side… So bad that is killed my stock bushings on the front lower control arm. I had it press it out for some new PS bushing.
I already changed my hub, so it can’t be that. When i drive most of the power goes to the left axle. i have no lsd. and every time i launch its always the left tire spinning.
Not sure what the heck is going on. any help?
Is the vibration only when accerlerating? Is it present when cruising on hwy? Does it go away if you let off the throttle?
Probably have a bad axle assembly with a worn inner cv joint. Could also have a cheap aftermarket unbalanced axle. Could have a bad tire, bent wheel,or out of balance tire.
Be more specific.
what he said ^…could be a couple of things but yeah check what mr. db2 said
Could have a bad boot on front right axle and the boot keeps out dirt sand rocks all bad stuff for your bearings. Have the same thing on my passenger. But instead of changing boot it’s cheaper to get a whole new axle because of the labor to change the boot. Hope that helped
Yeah it vibrate only when driving or accelerating. Gets worsts on the highway.
I switched wheels from the front and it still does it.
I also looked at the boots on both ends no rips at all.
So my guess would be the unbalanced Axle.
But any other thing that I should check let me know.
Thanks for reply and help guy’s.
I don’t think it’s possible that the vibration caused your bushing to wear out, that doesn’t make any sense and is likely an unrelated issue. If the vibration was that bad I don’t think you’d feel remotely safe driving the car. There could be an issue with the transmission, possibly an input shaft bearing, but more than likely it’s the axle. It’s a VERY common problem. If the vibration isn’t from the wheel, tire, or brakes then the axle is the next thing to replace. If that doesn’t fix it, then wheels bearings and trans internals would be your next items to look at (but obviously wheels bearings don’t apply here since you said yours have already been replaced). Unfortunately there’s not really any testing you can do wit these items, you sorta just gotta replace them and see what happens.
For axles I recommend Raxles, they’ll last you a long time but are a little pricey. The other option is from the local autoparts store, they fail often but as long as you have lifetime warranty you can just get new ones anytime. Depends on if you want to spend less money and then change them more often or if you want to spend more and not worry about them for years.
I would replace the axles or at least the driver side to start. As mentioned, you can either go with raxles or autozone, advanced auto etc. Get the lifetime warranty so you can come back and get replacements anytime. My guess is that it’s the cv joints on the driver side causing your issue. Keep in mind that with an open diff the driver side technically engages first. Hopefully this info helps.
