Once in awhile when I stop at a traffic light, my whole front end(steering-wheel, dash, etc…) shakes tremendously. When I shift the car to neutral or park, the shaking goes away. The same shaking occurs when Im parking the car on a slope. Does anyone know why my front end shakes violently?
I’ll take a stab at your problem. It might be the motor mounts.
i’d say its moor mounts too. Mine shakes some on hot days and a turn my AC on high and my rpms drop low.
Front End Shakes!
My RPM is below 1 its more like .75 when idling. It also gets worst when I turn on the AC or the heat(Fan). Should I try adjusting the idle?
like the others says, its probably motor mounts. the motor mounts on most all of our cars are probably pretty well worn out by now. and usually the tell tail sign is excess vibration in the steering wheel and dash.
If you got a strut bar it may be riding on the dashpot and transferring the engine vibrations to your chassis.

it’s usually the motor mounts… i got the same problem as yours i’m getting my motor mount replaced this tuesday so i’ll le tyou know.
how much is it approx to get mounts replaced?

i got the front one for 40 bucks shipped… that’s prob the best you’ll get pretty much everywhere else. replace that one first and if that is not it then replace the rear (much more expensive)

do you have a manual or auto? if i remember correctly, if it’s manual the rear mount usually goes out first causing bad vibrations since that’s directly bolted to your chassis and that part is right next to your dash and ext. if it’s a auto the front mount that goes out first, it’s not your idle, 1 grand and around .75 is normal, i just replaced my rear mount and it was busted to hell, and i mean it was gone, the acutual middle piece wasn’t connected to anything anymore ripped off both sides of the rubber. but your idle is fine 1 grand and little below is normal,
