just bought 6.5" Pioneer speakers and wanted to know the directions to install front speakers on 93 LS. So please if any body has any to help me install the front speakers. Would really appreciate it.
Is it simply plugging out the stock speakers and plugging in the after market ones or do i need new wiring harness and etc to install on the head unit to connect it with the speakers…?
Simple
Its just a plug and play, the terminals are sized differently so you don’t get the + and - mixed up, all you have to do is pop off the cover (grill) by the speaker and viola. Hopefully the Pioneer Speakers you bought are sized properly, because there is not to much cleareance (depth) for speakers in there.
Good Luck.
speakers would be loose?
Thanks fastblackac. So if its just plug and play, would the speakers rattle? In other words would the speakers be loose or do I have to screw (to tighten) the speakers if i do plug and play? Thanks again
Hey
You will still utilize all the stock mounting points for the speaker, I believe its 2 or three screws. There is a bracket that comes out from the door (plastic) that you will screw them into. Really easy, just go ahead and do it, should take about 10 or 15 mins. Providing the speakers you got are not oversized, but generally Pioneer are pretty good.
Hope that helps
later
Yea there are 3 screws to take out of the stock speaker. I only put 2 in the new speaker but it seems to be holding well. :werd:
I know this thread is a bit old…
I was about to install a pair of pioneer 6.5 upfront it looked pretty simple to install but for some reason my stock connectors were a little bit too big for the pins on the pioneer speaker…it keeps slipping off…anyone run into this situation? :hmm:

Just take a pair of crimpers or pliers and squeeze the connectors a little bit to tighten them up and slide them on.
I just got a chance to work on the car a few days ago. I almost forgot to say thanks hb420, I finally have them in :).
