i tried to change the fuel filter on my dad’s DA and i unbolted the 12mm bolt which is the big one and the line came out easy then i uboted the other one but the line doesnt come off…anyone has experienced this, i still can’t take it off without the bolt
do you need to pull it out or unscrew the line?? the thing is i already took out the 10mm bolt but the line doesnt come off like if its glued to the filter
The line to the left (gas outlet i belive) has a big bolt then alittle one on the on top make sure you take off the big bolt also i belive you can leave the little one on the top and the bottom one will still come off then like Cynikal.Mindset if it doesnt just pop off…Mine did but if your doesn’t gently pry it off.
i tried prying mine off and put some PB blaster on it and still no success…i used a flat head and a needle nose fit better in there and it didnt want to come apart…i even tried tapping it with a hammer
ive been trying since yesterday to upload a pic of what i’m dealing w/ but photobucket and my FB account, from my phone is acting like a real bitch right now i will continue to try though. if anyone has a pic of the fuel filter setup (close up pic) for the integra (90) please post it up
i’m sure you can see on the left line (the one w/ all the plier marks on it) on how i tried to remove it…i did remove both of the bolts, i got fed up w/ it and just put everything back together and drained all the bad dirty, rusty looking gas, out of it…any ideas? its the one w/ the 12mm, i think, bolt, not the 17mm side.
there is a special tool made for those fuel filters, and its only for the left line, that oval shape under the 10mm bolt(or whatever size the bleeder screw is) needs to come off. then the line will be free.
The bolts holding the fuel lines on the filter are a real bitch to get off. You got to put some muscle into it but be careful not to damage your fuel lines. When replacing the hoses, the bolts need to be on just as tight as they were when they came off to seal the fuel system. These things are a real bitch so good luck.
that “oval” part has two flat sides try a couple of wrenches or an adjustable wrench on it thats how i changed mine, its really not that difficult, just make sure you get new crush washers and tighten them down good.
