Fuel Filter

I was going through my shed and found a fuel filter for a 89-91 Civic/CRX brand new. Looking at the filter on my Integra and the Civic/CRX filter, it looks like it would work. Can anyone confirm that? If it will fit, this filter will save everyone $20. (Integra Filter $40, Civic/CRX Filter $20)

List price on an Integra fuel filter is just a little over $30, not $40. While the Cvic/CRX one may work, it’s not the same part number, so they are different.

The stock fuel filter part number is: 16010-SK7-K50, whenever you see “SK7” in a part number you know that it was made specifically for the DA/DB.

I know that all of the part numbers with “SK” are for our cars. When I called the dealer for a price on a fuel filter they quoted me $41. I just found a filter in my shed that was for a EF that I use to have and just wondered if it would fit a DA.

Often local dealerships will actually mark up their parts OVER Honda/Acura list (suggested retail) price. IMO that’s bullshit and I try not to buy from dealers that do that. When they quote me a price above list I always ask if they can give me list price instead, it’s worked a couple times to get them to bring the price down, but for sure not 100%.

Like I said, the parts are different in some way… but as with many other parts, just because they have different part numbers does not mean they aren’t interchangeable.

Sometimes I buy online, but with shipping I might as well buy it at the dealership. I use to have a wholesale hookup, which was nice. I hate buying from the dealer!!

I tried to buy a fuel filter from Autozone and for some reason the inlet and outlet on the filter is switched around. If I switch the lines around, there will be one that will bind. My only option is to get one from the dealer.

Yeah, I don’t buy anything aftermarket unless it’s some form of proven upgrade part. I try to buy Honda stuff from a friend hookup when possible, and any larger Acura orders thru acuraautomotiveparts.org - but when I only need something small I’m forced to pay dealer prices which sucks…

My dealer price match’s the online dealer prices, something to try:shrug:

Op, dosnt one line come in the top and one goes out the bottom on that filter

The inlet and outlet holes are setup on top like the DA filter. I will ask about price matching, but a lot of the dealers out here are really anal.

hmmm im running an autozone filter with no problems… yet

The EF filter has the inlet/outlet on the top, just like a DA… however the size/body of the EF filter is smaller than a DA. I assume the filtering properties would be the same, but the volume of the filter is smaller than that of the DA part.

I installed the EF fuel filter today with no problems. Same size as the DA filter. The only difference between the two is the angle that the fuel lines go on the EF filter is different than the DAs. If you want to save $10-$20, an EF fuel filter will work.
