Hey ive recently bought an Adjustable fuel pressure regulator for a B16A gen1 DA6_and i was wondering what psi i should set it to_to get the best increase in power without putting to much stress on my stock fuel system…thanx
n.t done intake/headers/Exhaust…have good leads/plugs/msd coil
someone told me 35psi but i need to no for sure…
I run 38-40 PSI w/out vacuum on a B18A w/minimal mods (AEM CAI, high flow muffler… everything else stock, on an auto). No pinging, excellent throttle response, and passed emissions @ 38 PSI with nearly zero CO and HC readings (NOx was in the 300’s though, so I raised it to 40 PSI… this was with the original 120k mile O2 sensor too). The inspector’s jaw dropped when she saw the HC and CO numbers, and she said she’d seen a lot of brand new cars turn in worse numbers.
… the fuel pressure regulator+guage were on the car when I got it, I would have left the stock one on personally
this may not be the right thread but cant find what im looking for. My DA had the vacuum system deleted upon purchase. Its a high CR b17 12.5:1 (supposedly). I have a stock fpr on there at the moment. i dont know if the fpr is for a b17 or the b18. I have an AEM ADJ FPR not installed. been debating on installing it. Anyways, the question im asking, is this.
I took the vacuum line off the top of the stock fpr. Do i put a vacuum cap on it, or leave it uncapped?
why is the correct Fuel pressure so important?
If i need to or want to install the Adj FPR, what pressure do i set it at, and do i set the pressure while its running(dynamic) or do i set the pressure while engine is off (static)
Read your Helms manual to check the fuel pressure and see if it is correct. If you install the aftermarket FPR you should set it to the stock fuel pressure and then let your tuner adjust the pressure as needed while he’s tuning the engine on a dyno. You’re wasting your time trying to adj fuel pressure on your own without having any sort of tuning software and/or knowledge.
