What I don’t understand is why people take issue with being called lazy. Get over it. When there is a correct and proper way to do something, and you do something different because it is easy, you are being lazy. Sometimes it is worth it (skipping the step about pulling the axle to get to the alternator on a G1 teg comes to mind) and sometimes it isn’t.
I, for instance, cut off the roof of my Integra because the doctor said I wasn’t getting enough vitamin D. He suggested I get outside more, but I was like “fuck that! These episodes of Buffy aren’t going to watch themselves!” and I cut the roof off my car because it was easier. Now, when I’m driving to the store to get more Cheetos, Diet Mountain Dew and kitty litter for an upcoming raid with my guild I can get a little sunshine. Now, it all worked out great and after I cut some holes in the floor to drain out the rain water, everything seemed perfect but unfortunately now my car is sagging in the middle and I’ve got to put in a roll cage to stiffen up the chassis which is just going to be more work. What I should have done was just cut out a section of the roof and put a little hatch there with like gaskets and stuff. If only I’d read this thread first. Fuck.

I hope nobody takes this guys advice and actually cuts a hole in their floor. Granted there are a few times that you need a cut a hole in a car like maybe a broken/spinning bolt into the body but this isn’t one of them. You are only creating future problems for the only reason of being lazy. How long would it actually take to undo a few fuel lines and 2 straps and lower the tank. Maybe like an hour or two for the whole job. Wow what an eternity…
