Fuel pump.... tips and tricks?

All right… this is the deal… after much testing (thank you Helms) I have narrowed my problem to the fuel pump. I have a eplacement (higher flowing) fuel pump that was given to me by a turbo G3 Prelude friend… but now I have to replace it.:bang:

ANyone have any tips/tricks to make my life easier? I have almost a full tank of gass and cannot siphon it out for some odd reason… any info would be GREATLY appreciated…

And please, for the love of god, if you are going to take the time to reply, don’t tell me to search…

if you have a floor jack it wont be that hard. just put a 2x4 under youre tank, and use the jack to lower it(after removing batt cable and anything else-ie.straps/wires/etc) have a friend around though.
you can do it!!!

ummm try to empty out the tank somehow. use it up or something. drop the tank…

use the drainage screw on your gas tank

Louie55: It scares me that you are going to be a master tech LoL… a bad fuel pump means the car won’t run… which means I can’t just use it up…

are you absolutely 100% certain its the fuel pump? just cuz theres no hiss when you turn the key doesnt mean its the pump (according to the manuals). mine turned out to be the igniter. hopefully you checked the regular stuff- coil/igniter/fuel relay… good luck. oh and :search:

  1. I told you not to tell me to search.

  2. I am 100% sure the fuel pump will be changed in a few months due to upgrades already set in motion.

  3. I have checked everything else out… the car is not getting any fuel… it doesn’t take a genius to know this… crank on the car and then pull a spark plug out… no gasoline smell = no gasoline in the cylinder… not gas in the cylinder = something wrong with fuel delivery…

Now why is it people are so afraid to answer simple questions without telling the person to search? Is it really that difficult?
