-Toby

I have heard that they work preety well, but your better off buying a apexi rev/speed meter, It works alot better. $180.00 at
www.importdirectusa.com or check www.nopi.com

umm whats that thing all abpout, same kinda stuff?
-Toby

the best readings will always come from a wheel dyno, but as a cheaper, baseline reading in your car I think that the apexi rev/speed meter is the best way to go. I will eventually be getting on for my self, but anything you have in your car will never be as good as a dyno

of course it wont but the question is for the avarage enthusiast is it worth it, is it useful?
ya know
-Toby

yeah I think it’s worth it.

anyone use a G-TECH??

Has anyone used a G-TECH as a guage for tunning? You know looks like a radar detector but says you did the 1/4 in “X” and your car make 100,000,000 horsepower blah blah blah…

is it repeatable ie does it show any consistancy?..

Yes they are acurate, kinda hard to tune your car with it thoe.
I ran at the track with it on and it was only 1/10 off.

thanks…good info…what about hp was it close to what you expected or way off?

gtech pro (older one) for 36.99 on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2445028468&category=46100

Anyone think this is too good to be true? It says he has 68 of them in stock. I say for 40 bucks that’s worth it.

Hey, I saw those also a while back on eBay. The price does sound too good to be true but who knows, eBay itself is too good to be true in my opinion
From what people say on here those things are pretty darn accurate and are very handy, the only complaint most people have is that it’s not worth the high $$$ For that price I’d say you can’t go wrong, I’m considering one myself actually.

My uncle bought me one for my graduation present, G-Tech Pro (old one). I haven’t used it yet though…it’s winter now so I guess I’ll just wait until spring to try it.

interesting… that guys feedback seems surprisingly good too. if i had money to blow id try it.

37bucks and only 6 shipping too.

well I bought it. I’ll let you guys know when and if it comes in. I’ve been thinking about getting one of these things for a while. I think they are normally $130. I paid $43 after shipping.
late!

The only reason why I haven’t tried mine out yet is because you have to program the weight of your car to the device. I haven’t taken my car to get weighed anywhere.

lucky duckling!!! The price has been raised to 49.99. Still a good deal. Might just have to get one. Let us know if it is the real deal when you receive yours…

Peace…

I got it on Saturday! I didn’t get a chance to play with it, but I did plug it in my lighter socket and it turns on etc. It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, about half the size of a radar detector. Came with the manual and big ole gtech pro sticker. It looks like its advertised, new in the box. I did notice that he raised the price to 49.95. Still a deal since they go new for like 130.

Let us know how it works once you get a chance to play with it for a while. Come to think of it, if you look at the picture, the cigarette lighter plug is shown next to the unit, so that should give you an idea of the size of the unit. Would you compare it to about the size of an average flip phone???

Peace…

It’s about 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" and a 1/2" thick. About the size of an older pager. Very light also.

well i just got mine this morning for 30bucks picked up, and i have to say i like it a lot. dont know if i would pay 50 tho. i basically decided to spring for it because i want to try and tune my cams via cam gears and ecu.

i guesstimated my weight at 2900 and it seems pretty accurate. average HP was 130. best quarter today was a 15.9@90mph. braking- 156ft. i only tried braking once and i probably skid too much.

i dyno’d before and got 113whp on a “dyno dynamics” when my car was auto, i/h/e, chip, untuned.
today i have a manual S1 tranny, i/h/c/e, crower 403’s, chip, still untuned.

oh btw i had trouble getting it to power up because of the tip on the cigarette lighter plug. it powered up fine on a cobra and an sti plug, but in order for it to power up on mine i had to swap the tip (just unscrews) from my cell phone adapter. im gonna try sticking a little piece of metal inside to make it a tad longer. or splice it directly or swap another plug i dunno.
