:search:
its been covered plenty of times… search for desol seats, a member on here has done… i as well have modified g3 seats into the g2…
all u need to do is modifed the rails from the g2 to the g3 seats… u’ll also be using some parts of the g3 rails also… just basically take off both bracket, go buy like 4 1/4" drill bits (unless u got some sharp drill bit laying around), get cobalt by the way eats through the metal like cheese, i ended up bying four bits the quickly finish up my driver side seat, it only lasted one or two rivits/welds… if your also gonna us a drill make sure its lifetime-warrentyed, i blew my dremel and a drill just trying to drill through the rails…
i was going to but it was too late i had already finished… maybe next time… i would make a write-up w/o pics, but then everyone would still be confuse on how-to…
To tell you the truth … I don’t know. It doesn’t have the plastic piece in the middle
caution though…
The G3 seats sit higher! it can be uncomfortable… I am going to see if I cant take my cushions and put it on a G2 frame
did u use the g2 rails? if u did then it should sit the same as a regular g2… but if u didn’t and somehow bolted all 4 bolts then yes it will sit higher…
I did not… not that I know of… I bought the seats out of a G2.
Do you know of a procedure to swap out the “rails”. I have taken out the seats and looked and other then drilling out the rivets I could not see a way to disconnect the seat from the “rail”. I cant stand the fact that they are soo tall. Like I said they are kind of uncomfortable in that manner. Through doing some research I have seen where others suggest taking out the springs, I did that, and it definitely helped.
As well I do not know where the rear seats came from. They seem to be the same material as the front seats.

check the #2 post link and you’ll know where to drill… just drill all the rivets out on the g2 rail to take off the brackets… on the g3 u’ll have to use one of the bracket its the inner bracket towards the car… by doing it this way it will retain the g2 low stance and the g2 auto buckle… and i’m about 99% sure those are g2 leather seats…
The rail swap will require some drilling and some cutting of rivets. You can use an air tool or drill the top of the rivet. It took me a couple of hours but it is worth it. The del sol seats in my car are great. they sit much lower than the stock seats. I need to redo my visors because they are too high for my short passengers. I will try to post some pics. Good Luck
