are you talkin’ about the overhead lights that shine down onto the needles and front of the guages, or the backlight?

i have the same problem, with my overhead guage lights no longer working. it happened after i was messing around back there, so i figure i knocked the connection lose or need to replace the bulbs. i’ve been lazy to get back there, but i’ve heard the dealer charges a grip for those little bulbs

If it is the guage themselves, check the screws, the conductive sheet (green with copper lines) is very thin and flimsy, and if the screws aren’t tight they will be intermitten. As far as the overhead light it twist into the back of the guage cluster, could have popped out. The little lights can be bought at Pep Boys or Advance Auto Parts. I hope this helps, if you need more assistance let me know.

Or you could just check the bulbs, i had intermittent functioning of the light that sits behind my tach and it turned out being a simple burned out bulb

to further describe the problem: i dont see anything. no lights for the cluster or backlights. at night, its all black. cant see shiet, yet my other ac/ radio lights work fine.

if one bulb goes out, do the others as well? i’m trying to remember how the gauge is connected, is it just 1 big plug and the speedometer cable?

like i described before, this happened about 2 months ago and before that too. the way i solved it was the fred fliinstone way. i banged on my dash!! LOL

thanks for the help guys.

Sounds like a loose connection

on the back of the gauge cluster. Hope you got some time to pull out that cluster, cuz you’ll need time to actually pull the gauge cluster a bit so you can reach back there to make sure all three main connections are properly connected.
