oh boy, are we turning into HT now?!
first off, you cant compare these 2 setups because they are totally different.
koni/GC is damper adjustable while omni is not.
omnis are a short stroke setup while konis have more stroke.
konis are rebuildable while omnis are being debated about that issue(no one knows because they are too new).
you can get a 1 finger gap with both coilovers but that would lead to not enough clearance for your upper control arms which causes you to dent you shock towers.
price cant be compared because as the first statement said, they are totally different setups.
you should base your decision on what your goals are for the car, autox, daily driver, drag, etc. do as much research as you can because buying suspension is more important that many people think. so many people think they can just skimp on price and get a quality setup with ebay coilovers and oem shocks. i personally have never tried the koni/gc setup yet, lol. but have experienced the tein ss and omni streets, those 2 get for daily driving and weekend mountain runs, nothing too serious.
koni/gc if ur doing serious track stuff
if not omnis should be good enought
fucking i hate integra upper control arms
my shocktower is dented to shit and i aint that low…
just no finger

:werd: Mine used to hit all the time but since I got the GC/Koni w/Mounts and raised the teg some, it rarely does now.
I agree with every word of this.
I’ve ridden in a G2 with GC/Koni and I own a G2 with the Omni’s. I like both of them but ultimately they’re two different worlds. I don’t autox and don’t plan to, I just wanted something that would perform when I needed it didn’t want to spend any extra money than what I paid for the Omni’s… so for me the choice was easy.
The huge bonus about the Omni’s is that you don’t compromise any shock travel when you lower it. You adjust the lower collar of the strut by twisting it, you keep your shock travel the same regardless of your height as opposed to a GC/Koni setup where the strut has to lower to even contact the spring.
so gray… which one is more streetable in your opinion?? in terms of comfort… 12k/10k omnis or whatever setup your gc/koni buddy had??
In terms of comfort my Omni’s a little bit softer when the Koni’s are adjusted all the way to firm.
I have the street version of the Omni’s, not the sport. So it’s 10k/8k.
I’m wondering why rebuildability with omni’s is so important to people… rebuilding konis cost at least $500… and i assume it would cost the same for omnis… but the difference is… omni’s are worth alot less than the konis (koni struts only $499, omni’s $600-650) … so actually you could just buy another set of omni’s instead of rebuild right?
well there was an arguement on HT about omnis being rebuildable. supposedly they were advertised as being rebuildable and then rumors starting flying around that they weren’t, but they are so new that no one knows. everyone just wants to get the facts straight because if they are rebuildable there would also be the option of custom rates like koni, tein, etc.
Don’t lower it more than 2" on the Konis, they’ll be on the bumpstops
