GC/Koni vs. omni power

I’m looking to get new suspension and I need an alright ride on the street and I want good handling for track and mountain runs.

Let me know what you guys have and how you like it. I really just want toknow whats best for my money.

Thanks, Jake

koni > anything else. period.

I agree with iveeno. KONI/GC is way better that those Taiwanese made Omnipower coilovers. Omnipower coilovers offer no adjustability, no place to have them rebuilt, AND OMNIMAN IS A SHADY MOTHERFUCKER.

Race tested adjustable suspension setup > Taiwanese non-adjustable “message board special” coilovers.

My setup consist of GC custom spring rated coilovers, GC Top Mounts, KONI yellows, and a ES Master kit.

Might be expensive, but, you’ll love how it’ll handle.

D2 / Omnipower / K-Sport / F2 / anything from taiwan is crap… try to avoid it at best

GC / Illuminas - okay nice firm response but not soft enough when i wish it be most.

Tein SS’s are too soft - comfortable for daily driving but even at its stiffest setting it wasnt as stiff as i wanted it to be.

Right now im on Buddy Club Racing Specs w/ pillowball mounts- i have to give it up for these. These are more comfortable than the SS’s for street driving, but when i dial in to full stiff, it’s a totally different ride. these really cant be compared to koni/gc because theyre so versatile… agreesive when you need them to be, but still really comfortable for the street. simply amazing.

jayracer, how much did your shock/spring setup cost you? I have koni/H&R sport springs and i like the ride, just curious as to the price comparison? Since you seem to like your setup much more.

Josh

TEIN SS’s i got for $800 used back in the days.

The Buddy clubs i got for about $930… at a discount direct from an inside source… cheapest i seen the buddy clubs w/o the pillowball mounts is like 1150 or so? and about 1400 with them. MSRP of 1780.

^^Pillowball mounts look cool hahaha… but you cant slamm your car with them on.

Wow that is expensive. I like my setup for what i do. I do not need the top of the line, but the koni/h&r setup works very well for me. Maybe someday i will upgrade to a setup like you have, but thanks for the information and pics, those buddy clubs look hott!
