Gear Box Oil Question

Normally I get my dealership to change the oil in the gear box of my Teg, however since getting my new body kit fitted, I cannot get into their driveway:( So I am going to try and change the gear box oil at home, what i was wanting to know is, how hard is it to do, how much oil do I need etc…

I did search but came up empty, a walk through would be great…

Assuming it’s a manual and the same as usdm trannies, it’s really easy. Just make the car level (since you’re probably jacking it up, you’ll have to jack up the front and rear most likely), then remove the drain bolt on the tranny (should be just below the right side axle). Put the drain bolt back in, and then undo the fill bolt that’s on the same side as the drain but to upper left (towards the rear of the car behind the axle). I’d get a funnel with a hose attached to it and put the end of the hose in the fill hole, and then use that to fill with. It should take about 2.2L or 2.3qt (us). Just keep adding fluid until it runs out the fill hole, then just reinstall the fill plug, and you’re all set. Only takes a little longer than an oil change usually. Good luck! I’d definitely look into getting a good manual for your car as they are great at explaining stuff like this.

Okay, thanks very much, EXCELLENT walk through. I will attempt it this weekend. Thanks again.

I will have to invest in a service manual very soon.:read:
