getting ECU code 9 pleases help..

After a rough take-off yesterday with a lot of wheel hop the check engine light came on. I wasn’t racing just making a left turn into heavy traffic so I wsn’t red lining or anything. Later when I got home I followed the teg tips to try to reset the ecu but the light still come on almost instantly after the car is started. (like a 1 second delay). Anyway I have done no mods to the engine at all and everything runs fine just like before, except the stupid light staring at me. The code according to teg tips and the chilton manual is for the #1 cly postion. I’ve been searching for over an hour and the only post similar to my prob is a guy who replaced his distributor, but I haven’t done that to my car and it runs great so I don’t think there is a problem there. I checked all the connections and everything looks fine. I just want to get the light to turn off now b/c I don’t want to keep driving it this way. btw my car is a DA 1990 LS stock b18a engine. TIA for any help or insight!

or maybe i should just do the amber dashlight coversion thing so it can blend in with the rest of my dash.

anybody? ^

-i will try to type in english-

ok, code 9 , refering in the Helm (Acura dealer book) refer the problem to the CYP sensor.

CYP sensor can be measured directly via the Test Harness (near the ECU)PIN B11 & B12 or via the Terminal near the Distributor. The plug is in the rear of the distributor if you view it to the left of the motor as i can see of the picture.

Diagram of the Disconnected plug TO the distributor is:

-------< >-------
– A - B - C - D –
– - F - G - H –

(I think measure directly via the plug is more easy)

PIN D & H – Orange and White – (Or B11 & B12 on Test Harness)you are
supposed to get 350 - 700 Ohms on the Multimeter.

If this value are correct check step 2:

Check Short Circuit between B11 and Body Ground, repair the Short if is occuring.

If no Short, then Step 3:

Check all again with a new ECM, they can be need to replace it.

If it can help you, good luck.

I’ll try checking it agn thanx for the help. I did it the other day from info i got from another post and it mentioned an 8 prong connector but mine only has 7 connections in it like the one you described. if i do determie the distributor to be the cause, does anyone know which model years distributors will work in a 90LS motor? Thanks agn for the help.
