can everyone list things, little or big, that they have done to lighten their integra? things like removing the rear seat and removing the AC compressor. anything else that can be removed to get rid of unneccessary weight, just list here. thanks
rear tow hooks
80% of metal brackeets in engine compartment
Poweer steering system
No AC
No cruise
shifter counterweight
bottom subframee (front)
trimmed battery holder
talk to DB2-R81 for more; hee’s hardcore.
aftermarket header - saves 5-10 lbs
brake dust shields
exhaust heat shields
aftermarket intake - a few lbs
tar underneath carpet
fuzz underneath carpet
sparco seats
remove engine:bored:
carbon fiber hood probalby saves the most and costs the most
i hear one piece headlights save about 8 lbs each
behind the coin tray panel and below the glove box panel, there are two very heavy metal things. i took them out and they weigh about 10 lbs each, but i dont know if they serve any purpose. does anyone know what they are there for? should i have not removed them?

-remove rear wiper
-remove spoiler (if you have one)
-ditch all stereo components
-remove pass side mirror (mirrors are surprisingly heavy!)
-remove floor mats
other than those and what the others said i can’t think of anything besides full on gutting (removing all interior panels, extra seats…etc…)

the long piece and that crossmember right. doesnt that hinder the structural integrity? i forget but i think the crossmember piece has the front mount welded to it
i also wonder about those sheetmetal pieces behind the kneepanels… maybe its for collision absorption (dont want your knees crashing through to the hard frame)

i guess if your making a race car it doesn’t need to be safe.
Remove the bumper reinforcements, I,m sure that is at least 50 lbs
Don’t forget to remove the whole air circulation system behind the dash. there is more deadening to remove back there also.
Cruise module under dash
seat belt module in kick panel
remove clutch relay and switch
hood squirters and washer bottle
purge cut solenoid and charcoal canister and its solenoid
If you really want save weight:
all suspension arms and cross members can be shaved down.
Core support, bolts, any extra reinforcement that can’t be removed can be drilled
Smaller brakes and remove park brake
small light weight wheels
remove exhaust heat shields
remove front wipers, motor and column switch
Remove the wiring from harnesses for the things you take off(cruise,a/c, seat belts, etc.)
Brake booster
grind reinforcement ribs on block
Remove sway bars, metal dust boots on shocks
the list is endless
what purpose do the bumper reinforcements serve? will anything bad happen from removing them?
Wow you guys are hardcore. out of curiousity, are you guys all autoxers???
i personally gotta enjoy the comfort of my ride.
remove plastic screws
not so much for the weight savings, but so that you may smash them with a hammer and send them back to Honda Motor Co.

Why the hell would you want smaller brakes? If you’re autoxing and you install smaller brakes to reduce weight I think you may need to rethink your autoxing career.

Shinkhi: I don’t see autocrossing mentioned once in here, just how to save weight. Smaller brakes save weight and if your drag racing you don’t bigger brakes.
I plan to remove:
Passenger seat
Automatic belts
cruise control
power steering
remove spare and jack
rear seat
rear interior panels
cargo cover
remove carpet
remove tar
remove sound deadning padding
misc subsystems behind dash
remove all wiring holders
swap intake manifolds to after market (Victor X manifold is 7 lbs lighter than stock)
Swap flywheels to a lighter one (got the 7.5 installed) Saves major weight
remove spoiler
carbon fiber hood
remove 2 brake lights
remove 3rd braklight
shave bumper supports
Racing seat with billet aluminum rails
install chromemoly steel roll cage
light weight rims
and maybe fabricate custom light weight pieces, or shave down OEM mounts , for like alternator.
Swap crankshaft pulley to CTR pulley
remove all emission devices
did i miss anything???
Do they sell a cover for when you remove passenger mirror?
is driving with the passenger sdie mirror gone legal/will it pass inspection?
just to add. a lightweight battery will drop significant pounds…and…by the way i happen to have a 13.5lb battery for sale, check my post in the for sale sections. it removes 25lbs, since our batteries weight 40lbs.

also the knee panels under the dash can be removed, jdm bumper supports drop like 25lbs from each support, you can lose your side moldings, and your winshield washer squirters and bottle too.
Did anyone suggest getting a JDM bumper support? The original is like 35lbs and the JDM is like 8lbs (or something around there).
yeah i think the guy above you just did
is driving with the passenger sdie mirror gone legal/will it pass inspection?
two rear viewing mirrors are required to pass inspection, so drivers side and rear view will pass.

I cant believe you just said that dude. If anything you should make it more safe than a street driven vehicle. but that’s not the subject of the post so I wont go further into that.
what i would look into other than the above mentioned is aluminum contol arms and trailing arms. They can be made for a $$ and save a lot of weight.

It was a joke in response to previous comments about removing structural items like crossmember crossbrace and safety item anti submerge knee bolster, hence the quote.
