Just wondering what shocks the majority of you guys are using on your G2’s? I heard Konis are good but i forget what color most guys perfer. Also what about the tokico shocks? are they any good?
koni’s are definitely a set of shocks you cant turn away from. tokicos, ive had illuminas on lowering springs and blues on skunk2 coilovers and it rode as good as stock. tokicos are definitely a brand of shocks i would get, no questions asked but different shocks on different springs/coilovers have their differences in ride comfortability, performance etc etc.

Most people tend to go with koni yellows w/ ground control coilover sleeves.
illuminas are way better than blues and are 5 way adjustable. ive heard of blues blowin out alot. koni yeloows are the best but if your on budget go with skunk2 or kyb
i have tokiko blues on ground control coilovers my ride is very stiff and my car is pretty low is u ask me and have not yet blown have been on them for the past year n 4 months no complaints here.
quick question which shock would be the superior one? The koni yellow? or illuminas? Of course this is going with the ground control coilover kit
Koni Yellows
TBH, they’re both great struts and i’m sure you wouldn’t be disappointed with either. i beleive koni yellow are a tad more expensive, but mated w/GC coilovers, they’re one of the best mid level setups. they also offer a broader range of adjustability. lifetime warranty as well. not sure on illuminas warranty. but that alone would be enough to make me go for the koni.
i’d look for deals on the konis. they’re always popping up
I’ve always considered Tokico Blues to only slightly better than OEM’s.
I would go with either Iluminas KYB AGX or if you have the funds the Koni Yellows.
Tokico blue are ok, but i have had them on lowered cars and they dont last long. And KYB AGX are not a great choice either, i have already had them break off at the tube neck because the cylinder is hollow because the adjustment rod runs through it. The best to go for if you want a long lasting on a lowered car is definately koni or skunk2 pro struts. There already set up to handle the characteristics of a lowered car.
