Good headers

ive heard this too

Anyone try the OBX headers on ebay for 92 RS? My car has stock exhaust manifold, and its rusting and starting to look like crap. I want something stainless, not for power gains, mainly to look good.

Go with a Kamikaze 4-1 header. I got mine off ebay for 225? and its awesome. Good gains and it roars above 4k

I heard many problems about DC headers. They rust and crack after time. If you’re going to buy a header, go with stainless steel to prevent rusting. It does change color after time, but at least it doesn’t crack!

1 other thing. Why do people always refer to headers as plural when they’re talking about one single header. Do you have more than one header on your car or something?

For example:
“I have DC sports headers, good torque gains, got them new for $200. They are ceramic, but what is ceramic (metal)? They weigh next to nothing. Just wanted to know because they are rusting already.”

Sorry, just had to say something…

that bugs me too man lol.

but here’s mine. its a great header and i got it for $80  but good luck finding one.

GIVE THAT TO ME

it’d go nice w/ my RSR exhaust!

sexy… where’d u get that G2Slepperstyle. How has it held up for you?

So, so far iv’e heard:
DC is the best, but they rust, crack, and cost alot
EBay headers are cheap as crap and funtion just as good as any brandname stuff except they don’t last as long
Kamikaze not many reviews, but good gains for decent price
Comptech are just as good as the leading header
Megan is right along side of EBay stuff
Airmass is “DC screw-ups” but aren’t that bad

*Damnit…everytime someone asks for input, we can never agree on one thing! But seriously, we need to issue a rating scale. 1-10 on price, 1-10 on performance, 1-10 on reliability, 1-10 on looks, and 1-10 on overall. This is no means a rag on anybody. Just an effort to try to organize all of this info.

Im gonna go with a greddy header…I’ve never seen anyone with it so thats my reason for getting it.

i got it used from a member here. it has great power gains but it cracked on one of the welds where the #1 cylinder primary connects to the flange. it was small though so i got it tig welded i think and its fine now. its just hard to find a damn gasket for it lol

so, how’d the Greddy header work? has anyone determined which header is best? my guess is a ss one, but which brand? (for '90 LS)

davidhtam -> is the RS*R the way to go? I’m trying to decide which exhaust to go with and to find out if it makes any diff if you get one that mounts out the right side instead of bending to the left - which would probably take a different bumber/body kit

You’ve seen all those Powered by Acura or whatever make of car stickers? I got a new idea!

Powered by EBAY

LOL, car built by Ebay. Hey why not, I’ll probably be going the same route.

The RS*R exhaust is good if you’re looking for something that is quiet and give you some performance gains. There are many exhausts out there that perform better than the Exmag, but they’re WAY louder. It also depends on what your future mods are.

which exhaust gives the best performance/hp gains??

dc header

greddy

and in my opinion the jdm type r header is one of the best, I love the 4 to 1 design with a 2.5 collector. cant go wrong with oem honda.

dc sucks. they fall apart so fast. OBX and Megan both make very nice budget headers. my obx 4-1 is wonderful and my friend loves his megan 4-2-1. Kamikaze is probably along the same lines. Then you get into Greddy and Apexi. Comptech is the US version of Spoon or Mugen more or less. Finally there is SMSP and Hytech and ANR but they are uber expensive. If you wanan stay on budget i say get an OBX. I got my obx jdm 4-1 replica froma friend and it’s awsome(and VERY strong I might add, its been curbed quite a few times and its just now startin to dent. )

How low do any of these headers hang? Like how much lower do they hang compare to stock? Or are they pretty much pulled up towards teh body?

I’ve got a 92 GS-R, would a 92-93 header for a LSfit? Or would it have to be specific for a B17? Or are they all the same?

u want to get a header for a b16, b17, b18c1 or b18c5. the 1.8liter headers are a bit short so ull have to get an extension made to make the exhaust reach the cat. also the 4-1 headers hang a bit low so cutting a notch in the crossmember is needed. a two piece 4-2-1 header will fit better withouth aving to notch the xmember. i wanted the top end so i wnet with the obx jdm 4-1 replica and cut my xmember. hangs about an inch and a half below it. just gotta be careful.

Bah, that’s not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping a header made to fit a 92 B18A would fit. Damn.

the prob there is the oil pan will hit.

I’m pretty sure that the b17 and the b18 from a 92-93 integra are both the same length. It’s just the 90-91 that has a slightly longer downpipe.
