the GSR headers are shorter. so when u use a type R header u have to get an extension. i know cause i did it
for 200?where did you get that deal from?
dc says their headers are ceramic coated whcih is a fancy way of saying they are high temp heat painted. 10 bucks and u can do that to any header. they are still metal underneath. u answerd ur own question by saying they were rusting.
A friend that owns a shop that deals with aem (dcsports).
icemanGSR: They said ceramic, not ceramic coated. I didnt know when I went to buy them that they would rust.
oh i understand that im just saying ceramic = ceramic coated = high temp heat paint.
I just ordered a greddy SS 4-2-1 header. From what I’ve heard the design is similar to DC except they are SS which is what I was looking for. I’ll have pics up when it arrives.
iceman, have u noticed any problems with ur obx header?
the only thing is it hangs a bit low. other than that its awsome. the flanges are thick as hell, the welds are nice, not one is even beginning to show signs of crackiing/wear. the sound and pull from 5600 up is great.
did u have to modify anything on your exhaust
initially it was mated to a stock exhaust/cat and a fartcan. i had to have an extension welded on to make the cat reach. now i have a full custom exhaust. my header is their jdm4-1 Type R replica.
