what would be a good suspension setup for not such a ridiculous price i was thinking of using Tein SS’s, since there fully adjustable. What are you guys running and how much did it cost
:search:
i’m sure there are TONS of threads on suspension setups.
what is good greatly depends on your budget.
-for around 600 you can get full K-Sport Coilovers (be warned).
-for 448 you can get the Tokico Advanced handling kit (ILK 204, Illuminas with matched springs)
-from what i read Teins are nice but aren’t exactly the sportiest setup.
-Spend at least 800 to get the Koni/GC setup.
-or you can mix and match struts/springs from around 400-800.
Just curious, why did you say be warned with Ksport?
I’m going with AGX from 91 civic. DIY top hats. Useing my old sleeves from my cheap ebay coilovers and adding custom rate groundcontrols. Cheapest why i figured out with good stuff beside off brands ect.
AGX $320 ebay shipped
GC $220 GC web site
Top hats couple dollars $5
Than after this type r sway from ebay 120 shipped new

need i say more? Many have reported blown struts after about a year…conveniently just outside the warranty period.
D2 is also made by the same manufacturer…i suppose theyre the higher quality version. But i’ve also read about D2s blowing.
now search for koni or illumina, you dont see nearly as many results regarding blown struts. Plus Koni and Tokico offer lifetime warranties.
and if you decide to use a spring/shock combo please reuse your dust covers if possible. Just looking at it makes me regret not putting it on one of my rears…there’s so much dirt packed onto it. only 1 out of 4 struts on my car does not have a dust cover
